Privacy & Safety
Built for
young athletes.
KineticIQ is designed from the ground up to protect athletes under 18. Here's exactly how your data is handled — in plain language, before you sign up.
Parental consent is required for every athlete under 13
Under the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we require verifiable parental consent before creating an account for any athlete under 13. Parents confirm consent via an email verification link to a parent-owned address. Consent can be withdrawn at any time from the parent dashboard.
Biometric data is protected separately
Pose keypoints extracted from your test videos are biometric identifiers. In Illinois (BIPA), Texas (CUBI), and Washington (MHMDA), we require a separate written consent for biometric processing — captured at signup and re-confirmed every 12 months. Athletes under 18 in these states must have a parent or legal guardian grant biometric consent on their behalf.
We delete raw videos within 48 hours
After your test video is analyzed, the pose keypoints (numerical joint positions) are retained to generate reports. The original video is purged automatically within 48 hours and is never used to train third-party models.
No advertising. No third-party tracking.
We do not sell your data, serve behavioural ads, or share biometric identifiers with data brokers. We do not embed third-party advertising SDKs in the mobile app or website. Analytics is first-party only.
You can delete your account and all data in one click
From the Privacy & Data tab of your dashboard you can request a full account deletion. We delete your account, profile, test results, biometric data, and reports within 30 days and send you a written confirmation. Parents of minor athletes can submit the same request.
Data stays with you at 18
When an athlete turns 18, account ownership transfers to the athlete. We prompt them to re-consent to biometric processing as an adult and notify the parent that control has transferred.
Coach and academy access is read-only and opt-in
If an athlete joins an academy cohort, coaches see only the athlete's report — never raw videos. Academies cannot download or export biometric identifiers. Athletes can leave a cohort at any time and the academy's access ends immediately.
We comply with state minor-data laws
KineticIQ meets the requirements of the California Age-Appropriate Design Code, the New York SAFE for Kids Act, the Utah Social Media Regulation Act, and the FERPA-adjacent protections relevant to school-affiliated accounts. Privacy defaults are the strongest available setting for every minor account.
